Loose Leaf Teas & Tisanes
Teas
Did you know that black, green, white, and oolong tea all come from the same remarkable plant? It’s true—every cup originates from the Camellia sinensis plant. The difference lies in how the leaves are processed, creating the unique flavors and aromas we know and love. Exploring the world of loose-leaf tea is like opening a treasure chest, filled with endless possibilities to discover. Whether you’re a lifelong tea enthusiast or just beginning your journey, there’s always something new to sip, savor, and enjoy. So why not brew a cup and let your taste buds embark on an adventure?
We’ve categorized these teas by type, each with two options: pure tea and flavored tea.
Tisanes
Did you know the French have a unique word for herbal tea? They call it "tisane," a term that sets these gentle, caffeine-free infusions apart from traditional teas, which naturally contain caffeine. It’s a delightful way to celebrate the soothing charm of these beverages—perfect for unwinding at the end of a busy day or savoring a moment of quiet. Tisanes offer a tranquil escape, inviting you to step away from the buzz of caffeine and embrace their calming, restorative qualities. Sometimes, all you need is a little serenity in a cup.

Yerba Mate
Yerba mate (yer-bah ma-tay), or Ilex paraguariensis, is a plant native to South America and part of the holly family. First named by French botanist Augustin Saint-Hilaire, its leaves are steeped in hot water to create maté, or brewed cold for tereré. In the wild, mate trees can grow up to 30 meters (100 feet) tall, though they are commonly cultivated in Argentina, Brazil, and Paraguay.
The origins of yerba mate consumption lie with the Guarani people, whose deep relationship with the forest shaped their knowledge and use of the plant over millennia. This tradition spread to other Indigenous Peoples, including the Kaingang and Aché, who value yerba mate for its sacred properties and natural energy-boosting effects.
Settlers adopted yerba mate in the 17th century, and it became a cultural staple in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay, and Uruguay. Today, it’s enjoyed worldwide, with the tradition of sharing mate in a gourd circle (ronda/roda de mate) symbolizing connection and community.
We have green yerba mate, roasted yerba mate, and several flavored blends.
